i have considered that but i have to put it as a last resort, this is a users work computer and it is not practical to do a clean install, unless it is the only way to fix the problem.

this is the error message that pops up constantly, in normal, and even safemode. The program "Spyware Strike" was reloading almost as fast as i could remove it. I have the system so spyware strike doesn't keep coming back. I have ran Microsoft Anti-Spyware, Ad-aware, and spybot. I was able to run a NAV 2005 scan before it mysteriously quit working. Pending today on NAV 2006. I have gone through the registy and the files with a fine tooth comb to remove this and so far i have had no luck any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the above does not fix the problem, follow the instructions here. It uses SmitRem with some other tools

Trying the above may work BUT sometimes even starting up in safe mode does not allow you to completely clean the system. I have fround the best way (works every time) to get rid of malware is by using a boot cd. My absolute favorite is Ultimate Boot CD for Windows (http://ubcd4win.com/index
Hello beltvalleycomputers
Download HiJackThis from this website
http://www.computercops.ne
Place it into its own folder e.g. C:/HJT/HiJackThis.exe
YOU MUST DO THIS FOR HJT TO CREATE A BACKUP FILE.
Run HijackThis, click Scan DO NOT CHECK ANYTHING YET, Most of what HijackThis displays is Harmless or Essential to your system.
post the log file here ----> http://www.hijackthis.de/i
Run Trend Micro Scan from this link ---> http://housecall.trendmicr
try to get a cd contains those softwares:- or download them.
1- http://www.computercops.ne
2- Spysweeper.
3- spysubtract.
4- Ad-aware 6.1 or the latest version.
5- CWShredder <--- is Important too.
6- download the latest norton antivirus defentions manually from the symantic website.
Do a full scan by those after you download them from the internet once in normal mode, try to untick all the checked items on the startup bar of Microsoft system configuration.
To do so ...
Click Start ---> run --> Msconfig and enter..
Goto startup bar and untick all the checked items.
Restart your computer and do the scan once again in safe mode.
Restart and report back.
Good Luck.

You may get all kind of suggestions that may help for a while. But the real solution to a compromise system is a clean installation. I suggest that you use fie transfer wizard to save your files and some of your settings, Then Do a clean install.
