it's seem that you need the /wait in stop/start the spooler
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have a script (DOS batch file) that installs a remote printer, stops/starts remote spooler service, then attempts to set the newly installed printer as the default.
The problem is that setting the default printer fails "Operation could not be completed". However...
If you allow the script to complete and type the same command manually, it will succeed.
If you refresh the printers/faxes window after service has started but before setting default printer, it will succeed.
It doesn't matter how long you wait after starting the spooler service before setting the default printer, it will always fail in the script.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Steve :)
