Problem with RIS installation of WinXP Pro from 2003 Server

Hi,

I am trying to install a RIS image on to several computers, all identical configurations from Windows Server 2003 Ent.

The details are as follows -

RIS Image

Windows XP Professional SP2
Has a few options set and and software installed.

Server

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
Running RIS, DNS, AD and DHCP

Computer specs of master image and all others

Dual Proc Xeon 2.2GHz
4GB DDR RAM
1 HDD as just one partition

I can create the image using RIPrep and send to server and have tried editing the .sif file to fix but I keep getting strange errors.

Main one is blue screen with following error messages and codes -

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Problem seems to be caused by the following file: setupdd.sys

Tech Info:
*** STOP: 0x00000050

Have also got a couple of other wierd errors depending on me enabling and disabling setttings like ACPI in BIOS or turning hyperthreading on or off.

From what i've read is something to do with the HAL. Have tried all the differen HAL dll's but just get different blue screens or it doesnt appear in the OS list. At the moment using halmps.dll which seems right given multiprocessor.

Can someone please help me resolve this as very urgent I get this image on to computers. Over 200 computers so ghosting or other options is basically out. Want a completly unattended install from RIS.

Thanks in advance.Start Free Trial
