Hi.  When I open internet explorer I receive 'The page cannot be displayed'.  After the page times out I can browse normally using the same browser instance.  If I open another instance while the same one is open I get the same error message, but again can browse in the instance.  Earlier I removed the adware file rlvknlg.exe.  I have run adaware and windows defender and it all came back clean.  The workstation is running norton antivirus with updated definitions.  Do any of you have any suggestions on how to fix this?  I tried updating to internet explorer 7 and it did not fix the issue.  Email always works (outlook express) and I can remotly connect using goto meeting.  This is a new Dell computer.  When the browser is looking for the inital home page the status bar shows it is trying to connect to the ip address, not the dns address.  I did a tracert and the ipaddress appears to be the correct ip address of the site (www.weather.com).  I tried setting the home page to www.msn.com and received the same results.  Thanks for your help with this.Start Free Trial
