You need to find the correct RAID Controller drivers for the motherboard, I am in the same boat as you right now. I have a new Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 motherboard that I use with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Socket AM2 2.6 GHz CPU, well anyway the board has the nForce4 chipset on it and I'm trying to run a mirrored raid during installation of Windows Vista Ultimate x64 but I can't seem to get the right driver installed... and when I choose the hard disk I want the OS installed on I receive the error message which restarts the install process. I was able to install and update the OS flawlessly when I chose not to setup a raid... grrr!
I have found a great forum topic on the nforcershq.com about the topic I just haven't figured out the right combination of drivers.

On a slightly comedic note the website at Gigabyte for my motherboard claims "NVIDIA nForce® motherboards and GeForce® GPUs, world renowned for innovation, stability, and award-winning performance, are the choice of reviewers and consumers worldwide. Together, they are essential ingredients for the best Windows Vista experience" haha... riiight.

Hi Rodge71,
I tried building a Vista box last Summer using an ASUS motherboard and ended up having to swap it out for a 'Gigabyte'.
Nothing I tried would load Vista (Ultimate) on the ASUS.
Have you checked for any ASUS updates from their website?
Post back when you can.
