Xp Media Center Keeps asking for activation?!?!?

I have an HP media center pc with a media center 2k4 license. The hard drive crashed so I formatted and reinstalled media center. After the installation finishes and I try to login it says you must first activate this copy of windows. I click okay and go through the process and the system activates. Once it says thank you for activating it logs me out. I click on my username and the same thing happens! It's an endless loop of annoying Microsucks nonsense. Anyone know what the heck is going on?? It activates and logs out every time asking to re-activate.
