Location Tab Gone in Vista Documents Folder Properties Sheet

i am using vista ultimate on a HP Pavilion dv8000 laptop.  when i fresh installed vista 2 days ago, i went to C:\Users\jasdak (that is my user name) and then right clicked documents, went to location tab, and then changed it to my local file server (\\192.168.1.168\jason\documents).  then i clicked ok and everything was fine.  one oddity was that if i went to my users folder i would see two documents folders; one was empty (the local one) and the other had all of my stuff (the network one).  yesterday i wanted to switch it back to having my files locally instead of on the file server so i cut and pasted all my files from \\192.168.1.168\jason\documents to the local c:\users\jasdak\documents folder.  then i noticed i still had two documents folder only now it was reversed, the local one had my fiels and the network one was empty.  i deleted the empty one.

here's the problem.  now when i click on the windows pearl and then click the documents link, nothing happens at all.  if i right click on the link on the start menu and go to properties it is totally blank.  everything is either blank or a zero.  and if i go to my user folder and right click on any folder BESIDES documents, there is a location tab.  if i right click on my documents folder there is NO location tab; although if i double click it it does correctly take me to my documents fodler  i obviously deleted the special folder that has the location tab and i would really love to get it back because i am having some programs give me errors that they can't connect to my documents folder even though it is right there and functioning ok.

how can i restore the original documents folder; the one with the locaiton tab?

thank you for your quick response.  unfortunately, the documents folder shown in the start menu is the one that has all zeros for values.  here is how the different documents folders behave:

1)  the one in the start menu is all zeros on the property page and has nothing but a general tab
2)  the one on the "favorite links" section has no location tab; just a general, shortcut, security, details, and previous versions.
3)  the one in the C:\Users\jasdak\ folder has no location tab; just a general, sharing, security, previous versions, and customize.

i am tempted to delete the current documents folder to see if it will be restored by windows but i am a little hesitant.  let me know if you have any other ideas.  thanks!
I'm sorry, I don't have any other ideas.  I would go ahead and try what you proposed (deleting the current documents folder), saving all of the data somewhere else first, of course.
