"windows delayed write failed c:\system32\config\SysEvent.Evt"

I supplied a PC from a UK builder of some experience to a customer locally. After several months the PC crashed, it appeared to lose the hard drive. The PC was returned under warranty and we were told that they had changed the CMOS battery and that everything was now fine. After a few months the same thing happened again. This time we removed the CMOS battery and everything was fine again. Several months later the same thing , this time we ran a dagnosis on the hdd and decided to clone the old drive and replace with new. Several months later same thing, we reformatted the hdd, reloaded everything and all was fine. Two weeks later the customer now received the following messages: "windows delayed write failed c:\system32\config\SysEvent.Evt" and different file " fileC:\$Mft" .
The customer reports that the first error message was a precursor to the PC crashing when it first went wrong.
Before returning the PC to the customer 2 weeks ago, I ran a burn in test for several hours plus turned the PC on and off over a period of a week about 30 times and never once did it hesitate, running for days on end. I could change the motherboard and PSU but have already lost about £150 ($211) on the deal. Any ideas would be more than gratefully received.

The MS solutions prompted me to look at the bios version which turned out to be the original for the MB. I've flashed the bios and the PC is working and much faster than before. The customer was very surprised when we fired up the box on it's return. The "windows delayed write" message stopped and no other error messages. I'd already run the HDD diag from the manufacturer which passed the drive without problems. We'll now see how long this fix lasts. If this PC falls over again then the MB & PSU are all that's left. Previously the PC has been fine for as much as 4 months or as little as 2 weeks. For the time being i think i can say that the suggestion from siddu 27 certainly pushed me in the right direction and only time will tell if the fix is permanent.
