Using SNMPWALK command with AS400 / i5
We are using Zabbix at my work to monitor our systems. Â I would like to use Zabbix to monitor our i5 machines. Â The Zabbix manual says that SNMP can be used to get values from an AS400 system. Â I have learned briefly about the Unix/Linux command "snmpwalk". Â I have also learned briefly about the AS400 SNMP commands, in particular, ADDCOMSNMP to add an SNMP community. Â An example command to get values via SNMP would be (to my understanding) "snmpwalk 9.9.9.9 public", where "9.9.9.9" is the ip for whatever system from which you wish, via SNMP, to retrieve values.
Bottom line: Â I need to be able, to get started, to use the "snmpwalk" command on a Linux server to get values from our i5 systems, using a command similar to above. Â To that end, I first need to enable/setup/activate SNMP on one of our i5 systems. Â Can someone help me with this? Â Any help is appreciated.
