I think that fix is for hanging on SP2. This happens even if I'm installing XP Home SP1.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am upgrading from 2000 to XP on a PC with an M925 motherboard using a clean install. The installation stops after loading files and rebooting leaving a blue screen (not a BSOD) with a cursor. There are no expansion cards installed. The only hardware is a CD-ROM & a floppy drive. I have tried XP Home & XP Pro, 2 hard drives, NTFS & FAT32 formatting. The hard drive was set as Master & the CD-ROM as slave. I tried separate IDE controllers with both set as master & I tried a different CD-ROM. If I shut down or unplug & restart, the program restarts setup & still stops at the blue screem. The Windows logo appears like it is booting, then the blue screen with curser appears. Any suggestions?
