The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

I think there was a way. I also haven't used OS/2 in years, but will ask around.

01.11.2003 at 01:53PM PST, ID: 7709301
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type mmc, and then click OK to start MMC.
Start the Local Users and Groups snap-in.
Under Console Root, expand Local Users and Groups, and then click Users.
In the right pane, right-click Administrator, and then click Set Password.
Click Proceed in the message box that appears.
Type and confirm the new password in the appropriate boxes, and then click OK.

I'm amazed at how often people don't really comprehend what they read!

Are you talking about the default ID Administrator? Do you not have at least one other Admin level ID?

You may want to check out LAN Intensive Care Utilities here:
http://www.lanicu.com/index2_new.htm

as you may need to rebuild the domain. If you do, hopefully you can extract all of the info with LAN Intensive Care Utilities and import into the new domain.

Good luck!

Very easy way how to it just reinstall networking.
It will reinstall all network components (e.g. drivers, programs) and will ask you for a new password.
Networking will be reinstalled, but all data will be safe.
To reinstall networking , I guess you need to insert the installation CD and at the CDs root execute install command.

There may also be a userid and password for your server in the file IBMLAN.INI under the server section.  A lot of companies put them in there for management utils and things.

Please let me know if you're still interested.

I can help to recover admin password if you can grab NET.ACC file from that OS/2 system.
The simplest way is to boot to a command line that will allow to copy NET.ACC file
