Installing Linux from DOS
I have a laptop that I recently bought used. It isn't very good (Thinkpad 755ce, Pentium 100 Mhz, 12 Mb RAM, 515 Mb HDD), so I found a version of Linux, off the internet, that was made for old computers. My computer doesnt have a CD-ROM drive in it so I borrowed a Zip 100 drive. I followed the instructions on the internet to make a Linux boot disk. The website also said I had to copy all my files onto a Linux partion of the hard drive. The problem is I downloaded Linux on to a Win 98 computer. Then I transfered all the files onto a windows formatted zip disk (windows wont write to a lunux formatted disk). But now I'm having probems Linux can't read the Windows formatted disk. I tried copying the files to a Windows formatted partion of the disk but it doesn't help. What do I do?
P.S. The Linux website had instructions for DOS setup and that was what I used
