How do I rename an existing file system

Asked by raehrlich in IBM AIX Unix

With AIX 5.2 how can I rename an existing file system? If there is no direct way to rename a file system, can you make a recommendation based on the following scenario?

I am migrating data from one disk to another. I have the old FS and I have created a new FS. I will copy the date between the two FS's using rsync. When I am ready to cut over, I want the new FS to have the old FS name. This way I don't have to change all the reference to that FS within the applications.

Thank you,
