The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Power5 P570 and P595 1.65Ghz Processors support i5/OS LPAR.

http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/redbooks/pdfs/sg248001.pdf

There are specific feature code orders, software and hardware required to enable V5R4M0 i5/OS Support. On the P570, up to one processor's worth of capacity can be designated for i5/OS. Up to ten micropartitions of .1 processor each, or any combination, but no more than ONE Processor worth. The P595 supports 2 processor worth and up to 20 micropartitions.

i5/OS requires dedicated Load Source disk that cannot be assigned under VIOS on Power5. This is now possible on Power6 and IBM i V6R1, but VIOS can only own SAS drives in the CEC, or external storage. VIOS does not support i5 RAID feature cards for direct attached disk. VIOS can support LS on internal SAS and User ASP (Auxilliary Storage pools) on SAN, or IBM i can do boot from SAN with dedicated IOP and HBA IOA. 2008 Q3, IBM will offer an IOP-Less HBA that can boot from SAN and do D mode (boot from tape) IPL's.

Your IBM or Business Partner should be the ones helping with these issues.
