Need to dial into AIX 4.3 on Windows CE 5.0 device

I'm trying to dial into AIX from a Windows CE 5.0 (datalogic Memor). I can get the device to connect, but AIX immediately disconnects. Does anyone know how to do this?

Yes, the old scanners can connect and log in, plus I was able to l was able to log in from a pc.

Does it connect using some terminal app?
It is good time to review ppp logs on both sides - Id guess it fails with some ppp multilink option or so.

Sorry I've been away, upgrading from Vista to XP (stupid HP didn't have all the drivers for XP). Anyways, I'll look at the logs and see what I find. It's frustrating that their is no documentation on this anyware. AIX documentation only tells how to configure an attached modem. CE documentation only deals with dialing into another windows device. When configuring a modem in CE, there is a box "Special modem commands may be inserted into the dial string" but there is no documentation as to how this works. Does it send before the number is dialed, after, it's really fricken annoying...just like vista the totally unstable piece-O-crap os.
