I have two VIO Server instances on a p550 running AIX 5.0 on 12 LPARS. The VIO servers have 1GB of memory assigned to them and atleast 1GB assigned to the other LPARS. We have several LPARS with 4GB. The VIO servers have 2 10/100/1000 MB ethernet cards locked down at 1000MB.
Here is my problem: The network performance (network speeds) are ok for about a week. I am getting anywhere between 600-800 Mbps from the tests I have been running. Then my speeds drop to 80Mbps. I reboot the server and I get my speeds back. I have doubled checked the network speeds on my server and tried different managed switches which are also locked down to 1GB. I am starting to think a issue with memory but memory usage isn't off the charts.
Thanks for any input!
