Question
topas -C output to a file
Hi. I can't get topas -C output to a file in a script similar to the one below:
topas -mi 3 > excitement 2>&1 &
TOPAS=$!
sleep 7 # Capture screen shots
kill -9 $TOPAS
The above script lets me cat the file to view topas information but I can't get it changed so that the topas -C information will show up in a file (blank info). If you can show me how to change the script to get the topas -C info to show up when I cat the file it produces I'd greatly appreciate it.
I need a script to run hourly from 8 am to 5 pm to show the topas -C information for a small time interval and that will save that output to a file.
I can't use nmon or topasout even though those would be ideal (odd manager's rules).
