Browse All TopicsHello,
I am trying to update our base OS to 5.3, currently it is running AIX 5.2, the output of "oslevel -r" is:
5200-03
Initially i tried to boot to our AIX 5.3 CD to update the OS, once I selected the update it failed saying that BOS could not mount or something..
Then I found that I could also do "install_all_updates -d /dev/cd0" from the cmd, which output the following:
FAILURES
--------
Filesets listed in this section failed pre-installation verification
and will not be installed.
Requisite Failures
------------------
SELECTED FILESETS: The following is a list of filesets that you asked to
install. They cannot be installed until all of their requisite filesets
are also installed. See subsequent lists for details of requisites.
bos.rte.install 5.3.0.50 # LPP Install Commands
MISSING REQUISITES: The following filesets are required by one or more
of the selected filesets listed above. They are not currently installed
and could not be found on the installation media.
bos.rte.install 5.3.0.0 # Base Level Fileset

I am not really sure what I need to do to get this fixed?
This is one of our old machines collecting dust and I wanted to use it to learn AIX, so I am trying to update to 5.3 first. Any help??
Thanks!
