Question

Forwarding syslog messages from AIX to Linux syslog

Hi,

I need to do a simple thing - forward syslog from AIX to Linux syslog. But it's not working. AIX is not sending the syslog entries (werified this using tcpdump on the interface). But to syslog is writing ok to local files.

What i've done:

1. i've put in syslog.conf the line:
    *.*    @My_ip_address
2. refresh -s syslogd

what should be done next? Restarting the server is not an option as this is a production machine. In Linux it would already work, here I'm missing something but I don't know what.
