The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Please have a look at the instructions in the following page and try again:
http://linuxproblem.org/art_9.html

PS: you need to do "ssh-keygen -t dsa"  twice, and Copy ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub  (from source host) to the remote host and put it in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
Accepted Solution

do I have to run $ ssh-keygen -t dsa on the AIX box as well?
I simply created the .ssh dir with 700 perm. and did $ vi /home/user/authorized_keys and pasted the
contents of the id_dsa.pub in that file.

One strange thing i observed is that when I ran $ ssh-keygen -t dsa  on solaris box
and copied the contents of id_dsa.pub  at the end of the encryption key there is user@abc
But in this case the hostname is different it shows user@xyz how this is possible?
Any comments Please?

Till the time I am going through the links you experts have given.

Does using -t rsa OR -t dsa makes any difference?

Yes, they are different methods

05.08.2008 at 01:27PM PDT, ID: 21528167
which should I use in this scenario?

05.08.2008 at 01:57PM PDT, ID: 21528417
Hi if I run $ ssh-keygen -t dsa again on the solaris server i can see various entries in the known_hosts file, running this command again will it not wipe off the contents of the file?

Thanks

Sorry for not replying earlier. Every time you run the ssh-keygen then a new keys pair is generated. In either cases, you need the same method
