Question
Configure BIND to listen only to localhost?
Is it possible to configure BIND to only listen to querries made from the local computer? I'd like to setup BIND for use on a mail server to cache dns requests locally but I do not want outside people from seeing that I'm running bind on this box. Is this possible?

in you named.conf file you need something like this:
acl allow-localhost {
127.0.0.1;
};
options {
allow-query { allow-localhost; };
allow-recursion { allow-localhost; };
}
By default, anyone can use the server, by adding an access control list, only specified hosts can.
