Also, check that you are not using padding and width on the same element as this will cause problems in ie6 due to the faulty box model which was fixed in ie7

Browse All TopicsI am using the CMS Joomla (latest version) .. I developed a site using IE7 and Firefox as testing browsers. When I presented to client who has IE6 the site came up badly garbled ... components are misplaced all over the screen.
Site runs on a freebsd server, running php 5. www.chembulktankers.com/in
Any ideas what would cause this?

The second thing I have noticed is that you are using tables when you can just use a div?
This is causing problems with the widths, so get rid of as many tables as you can.

I decided to post a problem that I've faced recently, connected with the one described above, as some people just like me can be redirected to this page looking for solution.
I enabled Core SEF translation in Joomla 1.0x and the page suddenly refused to open in IE6. After sacrifying the better part of the day, I found the solution: http://forum.joomla.org/vi
I am having the same problem - I just told my client the site was done (foolishly not having checked on IE6 - I don't even have it at my disposal!) He tells me its all over the place in IE6.

Firstly IE has a double margin float bug where when you float something and then apply either margin left or right it will DOUBLE that margin.
Can you fix that please and then see where we are at then?
