Browse All TopicsI am setting up a new FreeBSD 6.2 box, and need to mount a number of ext2 partitions. I am able to mount them under normal conditions (after loading the linux emulation and ext2fs modules), but I am unable to fsck them when needed. I am using fsck.ext2 which is included with the Linux compatibility package, but it fails with:
FATAL: kernel too old
pid <thePID> (fsck.ext2), uid 0: exited on signal 11
Segmentation fault
Can anyone provide pointers on how to run fsck successfully? I can boot from a Linux rescue disk if necessary, but I would prefer to find a more direct route.
