How to fix arrow keys for vim in FreeBSD from Mac.

Asked by andywiese in FreeBSD, Mac OS X, VMware

I am using vim in a FreeBSD guest OS inside VMware Fusion on OS-X. When in 'insert' mode, the arrow keys do not navigate me in the text, instead, they exit insert mode and place a A,B,C, or D character in the line above. I think this comes down to a key mapping issue, but I've never been able to figure out how that works.  Help?Start Free Trial
