Frequent print queue hangups - lpshut and lpsched required every morning

We have an application server running HP-UX B.11.11. We are accustomed to running lpshut and lpsched every Monday morning. Lately we've needed to restart the scheduler every morning. What steps can I take to find the cause of the hangups? Once we restart the scheduler, all the queued jobs start printing. We don't have to delete any files or take any additional steps.
