Browse All TopicsHi Guys,
We are using a unix system to receive data feeds from a mainframe system for our input loader jobs. Mainframe is using NDM to transfer the files to us. The records in the data file are suppose to be fixed length but once in a while the length some how gets trimmed for a few of the records causing the loading program to fail.
This mostly happens with the data coming in from countries like China, Japan & Korea. Mainframe guys are using TEXT mode to transfer the files.
I believe that due to some special characters in the data feeds the length is being altered when we receive the data.
Last night we tried BINARY mode, but after we got the file it was not readable anymore. Is there a way to transfer the file without any data conversions so that we can get the file as it is?
Please advise :)
Regards,
Faisal.
