I have about 10 mac units that are able to access fonts on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 system using AFP but not SMB. If we use SMB, the fonts show up as Unix Executables and they have no size associated with them.
WIth that said, on my clients computer, a Powerbook G4 that I just updated to OS 10.5.2 from 10.3.9 she has lost the ability to work with her fonts.
The fonts for the most part locally show up as Unix Executables instead of fonts.
I am trying to recover fonts from one folder so they show they are to open with the appropriate program and they also show up as the appropriate file type.
The font is the The Mix Classic TM
It is a OS9 font probably but it was a purchased font.
Any ideas on what I can try?
I tried a SUDO command from the command prompt to reset all of the font Cache. That didn't work.
I tried giving the font a extension of ttf but they are not windows true type fonts.
I believe the Mix Classic is a Type 1 Postscript font but I can't be sure. The font appears to be working on other systems at the client office. But copying the font folder from the server down to the apple laptop then back up to the server appears to have caused some damage.
