OSX Leopard hostname resolve problem!

Asked by bliesveld in Leopard (MAC OS 10.5), Apple Networking, Domain Name Service (DNS)

I have a multi OS network installed WIn, Linux, OSX...
I am using bind9/Linux as a DNS server...

I am having a problem with the OSX boxes resolving their machine names from Win and Linux boxes...

I can ping the (FQDN) "computer_name.domain.com" but not "computer_name", all other boxes can resolve both FQDN's and standalone computer names... only the OSX boxes are having problems.

Not sure whats causing this, might have something to do with .local stuff?Start Free Trial
