I am running a Windows network with a few iMacs running OSX Leopard.
We have a network printer that each and every Windows machine can rapidly connect to and print to. The IP address of this printer is 192.168.1.50, and it is a Xerox Document Center (DC) 430 ST.
I am trying to print to it using the iMacs, and I can't even get it set up right. I've tried using every combination of protocol and driver, for protocols:
-LPD (Line Printer Daemon)
-IPP (IP Printing), both
Drivers:
-Generic Postscript Driver
-Xerox DC 440/43x/42x driver (shipping with iMac)
-Older Xerox DC430ST driver for Mac from Xerox web page
The only way I've managed to get this printing with the Macs is to use the AppleTalk protocol, which detects the printer, and even prints to it. Whenever I print anything that has an image in it though, from any application, I get the following printed at the top of the page:
ERROR: undefined
OFFENDING COMMAND: ~B!<< (Usually random gibberish characters)
STACK:
Has anyone come across something similar to this before? It's an obscure error, I know that much.
