most of the time our team connects to the server using ws_ftp out of their windows-boxes. everyone has his own account in the group "staff". when they connect and transfer files, umask is set to 022, what means that another member cannont modify their files.
i would like to change umask to 002 as a standard.
'till now i tried the following and it did not work:
- editing ftpaccess:
upload /home * yes someuser staff 002
- editing passwd:
username:*:100:1000:member
- editing profile (which of course doesn't make much sense, since nobody will ever login):
umask 002
- setting ws_ftp (v4.2) to automaticaly run a "umask 002" command - which however does not work since ws_ftp, does not recognize it correctly
at the moment i'm going the hard way and told the people to select all newly copied files, do a right-mouse-click and select option "chmod (UNIX)"... bla bla bla
but it is only a question of time 'till someone will forget about it and i will have to do the changes manually.
i' like a clean solution on the serverside.
