Question

escape characters in shell scripts

Hi,
  I use the following command on the command line and it works:
 
  grep "prc\|sp" output.txt

  gives me all occurances of prc or sp in output.txt
  but if I put it in a script:
 
  #!/bin/sh
  echo ${2} ${3} ${1}
  grep \"${2}\\\|${3}\" ${1}

  and run it on the command line:

  ./shellscript.sh output.txt prc sp

  it gives me 0 results.

  Please let me know what I am missing here.
