SCO Unix error during boot up: HTFS: No space on dev hd (1/42).

I have  a SCO Unix server kernel 3.0.3 ..(very old one though ... i feel its from 2002) .
The server was running hapily for long time andn now it doesn't boots up.
When I start it I get nmessage "HTFS: No space on dev hd (1/42).
I assume that I have run out of space and now it doesn't have space to even boot up ...(i might be wrong in my understanding though).. However I am wondering is thers some way to get into command prompt and get rid of some redundant data to clear some space ....

Any comment s!!!
