Browse All TopicsHi,
i need to use ssh on Sco Unix 5.0.5, so i have downloaded ssh from http://www.openssh.com/ and i have installed three modules in sco :
- Integrated GNU Compilation system (ver 98q2) download from http://www.sco.com/skunkwa
- Sco OpenServer Linker and App.Develop. Lib from cd
When I write ./configure to install ssh, the system tells me : configure: error: no acceptable cc found in $PATH
so I modify the .profile in :
PATH=.... :/opt/K/SKUNK98/Gcc/98q2/u
but i have a new error :
'ar' missing, please install or fix your $PATH
I think that the path in variabile $PATH in not correct....
Can you help me ?
Thanks in advance.

I think you want gnutools instead:
ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/open
also compatible with 5.0.5
Looks like a missing library.
You should install:
Development system from CD
ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/open
ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/open
ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/open
Or you could take the easy route and get prebuilt binaries:

OpenSSH is the first package in his list. I've used this package with success on 5.0.4 and upwards.
