to have a disaster recovery proceedure. We can use ufsdump and ufsrestore it seems, but we have no tape drive on this box.Is there a way I can restore from a file.We have 2 filesystems root and /export/home we backup to /export/home via ufsdump so I understand the proceedure to be something like this :
boot from CD
mount /
mount /export/home
ufsrestore from /export/home/ufsdump.root to /
ufsrestore /export/home from /export/home/ufsdump.expor
So root seems fine, but /export/home!! can I ufsrestore a filesystem from itself ???
Should I be using remote tapes, if so can I connect to these
while just booting from CD??
