Top is a tool that gives you a continual status on the processes running on your system... usually in decending order of RAW CPU usage, updated at a predetermined interval.

It can be used to show processes by user too.

It also shows current uptime, memory usage, swap usage, system load average, number or processes, CPU states, break down of system, user, nice and idle times on CPU's etc etc.

Actually top is not a Solaris command but a freeware pgm
available on most plattforms, hence the lack of manpage.

In Solaris you use prstat instead or some of the proc-commands if you need to see open files, memory allocations
etc. by each process ( see man proc )

Boys we know this thing,
the question is the complete description of
"output of TOP command"
not what are the features it provide.

Ok, then try this link... http://www.groupsys.com/top/display/ It provides an image of a top output where you can click a part of it to get a description of what it means, eg click on "PID" and it will tell you all about this column, click on "CPU States" and it will tell you all about what the CPU state output means, etc etc

Or you can check the official man page for top at http://www.groupsys.com/top/top1.html

What is top?  
 Top provies the user with a regularly updated display showing information about the system and its top cpu-using processes. Think of it as a full-screen "ps" output that gets updated at regular intervals.  
Where do I get the latest version of top?  
The official site for top is "ftp.unixtop.org" in the directory "/pub/top"
