Generally typing in
stty sane
will recover the terminal to a sane state.
If you don't see anything while you are typing, do
stty echo
Sometimes, you may need to use Ctrl-J, instead of the enter key.

Browse All TopicsWhen I do something like printing the executable file using more command, or while tailing a log file that's not properly formatted such as having non-null terminated strings, the output of my console get corrupted and whatever I type after that is corrupdated in the output console. Even the output is corrupted. Everytime I have to close and re-open the console to make everything proper again. Is there any command using which I can fix this problem?

Try to reset ENV var TERM, eg:
if you do it at the console:
TERM=dtterm
or
TERM=sun
export TERM
if you do it from a PC terminal:
TERM=vt100
export TERM
