Your problem looks like the terminal emulation is not working for you, what are you using as console?
PC? another Sun Box?
if a windows laptop or stuff like that use the TeraTerm free edition, once you are at the "Login:" pronto issue a "Send Break" command in the Control menu, or using an annex box for example... use Control + ] to go to command mode of the telnet> session and issue "send break" command, it should send the correct control character that emulates a 'Stop + A' so you can get into the OBP (ok prompt).
hope this helps...
If you have a PC with Windoze, you can user Hyperterm (serial port, set to 9600 baud, 8 bit, 1 stop bit, no parity and no flow control)
Make sure to use the correct cable ("null modem" or "serial crossover" cable). Pay attention to the different DB9 or DB25 to RJ45 cable adapters: They have many different internal connections! For Sun, you can use the same as for Cisco equipment.
The best (safest) is to use the DB25 serial port. If you have a RSC card installed and are not sure of it's configuration, remove the card for installation.
To send a <BREAK> from Hyperterm, use <Ctrl>-<Pause> or <Alt>-<Pause>
