Setting up xwindows/CDE from command line on Solaris 10/11

Hi,

I am running solaris express (5.11) on intel in a VM and tried to reset the screen resolution but now xwindows (not sure if thats the right terminology) wont start when the system boots up. I get a message to check /var/dt/Xerrors - I did this and see problems relating to the screen type and colour depth etc.

How do I rerun the xfconfig or xf86config setup routine from the command line - I've found info on xorgconfig but this wont allow me to change any settings - and I origninaly ran somesort of xfconfig command but cant remember what this was.

Also once I complete the changes using the xf86config routine how do I start the xwindow system without rebooting.

One last thing would be does anyone know the correct x setting for vmware?
