Nope, that didn't do the trick. Actually, when I load up the Screensaver app, the system complains that the xscreensaver daemon isn't running. When I tried to enable it, it gave me some warnings that I didn't quite understand (I'm new to Linux) and basically, the system wouldn't turn it on. Still, I went in and hit disable screensaver, but the system still blanks the screen, and actually, after a while, throws the monitor into power saver mode.

The default on RedHat 9, as I recall, is a blamk screen saver. You can disable that via "Preferences->Screensaver"
