Is there/How do I view logon logs for a DEC Alpha VMS
We have some really old DEC Alpha VMS systems in place that we need to audit. Is there any way to log user logons and view them from a logfile at a later date? If this is in place by default what is the name of the logfile?

The default journal is SYS$COMMON:[SYSMGR]SECURIT
The operator.log may contain the human readable alarms (if enabled).
Besides login/logout you can monitor actual use of special privileges.. Dont' /alarm, but do /audit. if you need it.
Some commands:
show audit show the current settings for /alarm & /audit
show audit/journal show the logfile settings (Including the active logfile)
show audit/server shows the server settings.
show audit /all (all the above, more than a screenfull).
analyze/audit /event=(login,logout,logfa
set login/audit/alarm/enable=(

set audit /enable /audit /enable=login=all
will log the (analyze/audit ...) to extract them
help set audit should show more...
