Event id 55 file system structure on the disk is corrupt within a Virtual Machine

Hello, I have the following problem, and was wondering if someone else had some experience with this:

Got a VMware ESX 3.0.1 32039 server. Have 5 Windows 2003 SP2 Virtual Machines. And 3 of them have in their Windows System Event Log the error 55: The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume C:. I'm really not sure what happened to the servers, but is there anybody who can give some advice on this one? I was thinking about a problem with the physical harddisk in the ESX server or problems within the vmdk file of the VM.

Hope someone can give some help.

Thanks in advance.
