There is no scandisk process in AIX , it has journaling filesystem long before DOS that ensures filesystem integrity in case of unexpected power loss.<br />

Thanks. i figured it out was a some strange error that made the system halt. it only needed the recovery disk to boot the system. it will be nice if you can help me with some links to aix resources other than the IBM site.<br />
also it will be nice to know: how to remove the errors from disk .
