FastTrak 100tx2 problem
I am trying to install a Promise Fastrak TX2 onto my machine and after installing, I keep getting:
FastTrak: Drive Interrupt Time Out (1)
FastTrak: RESET channel1 * DEV1(OK) DEV2(OK)
and the same message for channel2 with drives 3&4 ok.
I installed according to the circus trick defined in the driver disk from their site.
The card bios says everything is cool with the 4 disk raid 0/1 array.
The config is RH7.3 clean install on 4x80Gig
There is a cdrom on hda and a tape on hdc.
The machine is an old 4bx mb with built in scsi (no disks installed) 512mb with 500MHz PII Pro.
The error crops up anytime there is sustained disk activivity.
Buggered if I know what is going on.

Turns out the problem was with the kernel parameters not being set correctly.
Enjoy the points, no one else wanted them.

Will have to try on more contemporary equipment and see if the driver is optimised for faster boxes?!
