I just installed a new motherboard and processor (AMD 2.0ghz 64 bit). I did have an intel 2.0ghz 32 bit processor. Anyway, after I installed the new motherboard, processor, and extra ram stick I got the following errors on boot-up.
Uncompressing Linux ... OK, booting the kernel
Red Hat nash version 4.2.15 starting
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while ...
No volume groups found
Unable to find volume group "VolGroup00"

kernel panic - not syncing : attempted to kill init!
Once it gets to this point the system just freezes and I can't do anything. Is it because I still have the 32 bit version of linux (i386 Fedora Core 4) installed? How can I fix this problem? I still have a lot of information on the hard drive with the OS that I need. What should I do?
