i notice in your conf file that the line for core baseurl is commented out. Does yum work on your system?<br />

It's funny, on my system all the files in the folder you mention have the baseurl line commented out. I uncommented that line in each of the files and now yum seems to work. This was a fresh install of fedora 5.<br />
