Software for Pushing programs in 2k environment

I am responsible for a portion of a network with about 300 computers running Win2k. I administer about 8 servers and all workstations but don't have admin rights to the active directory.  (I do have admin rights to the servers and workstations).I have also been tasked with keeping all workstations updated with security patches and critical updates.  I would like to be able to push critical updates and patches as well as other software.  I have looked at Microsoft SUS and it seems limited to Critical updates only.  I would like a package that would do the job and keep me from having to go to SMS.  Any suggestions???

All of the push technology is still expensive.

There are lots of 3rd party software that claim to do this.

SMS may well be the cheapest solution.

See Prism Deploy.

Also look for BindView ( I think )

I hope this helps !

I use a lot of different software to push updates and applications to the desktop. I would recomend that you check out Altiris (www.altiris.com)and check out their deployment solution product. It's affordable, reliable and works well. You can download a trial version.
Good luck
