Folder names in the "Documents and Settings" folder

I had to reinstall Windows XP and I noticed that the folder names have changed after the reinstall:

from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users
to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS

and

from C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>
to C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>.<computer name>

1.) Why did it do this?
2.) Can I make them read the way the use to:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users
and
C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>

Windows XP will not let you rename these folders.
Any other way to do this?

What majorwoo say is right. The best way to correct this problem is to clean install your XP. Before you reinstall your XP, make sure you backup all your data first.
There is a way to put everything in order.
  1.Backup all folders in Documents and Settings folder.
  2.Create temporary Administrator account(i.e adm1)
  3.My computer->manage->users and groups-delete
all accounts except adm1.
  4.Delete manually all account folders placed in documents and settings folder except:all users.windows ,default user.windows and adm1
  5.Then you may create you own administrator account
with the name you want and it won't be .windows
  6.Override files in you new account with your backup files so you can keep your previous settings
  If you mess up just copy everything back and continue
using the same folders :)
the goal isnt to create an admin named somethin besides administrator, its to get rid of the extension on the end of the foldername...
the goal isn't to waste our time in stupid operations, but
we do it,don't we?
sorry SayMyName, wasn't looking to offend you, I was just saying your instructions wouldn't get him what he wanted.
