The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. How to change a windows xp pro installation from Corporate to OEM

I've a pc that came with a "genuine" WinXP Pro SP1 OEM CD. Since it was just sp1, to spare same time, rather than using it I used a WinXP Pro Sp2 Corp CD with a product key found on internet (here ownership of a valid license should be good enough regardless of the media you install from - anyway this is another topic). However now the Windows Genuine thing has started displaying annoying messages about "you might be victim of counterfeit..." etc, so I tried to change the product key and replace it with the original (good) one. Unfortunately the orginal key is rejected because the system was installed from a corporate cd and not an oem cd.

How can I change the installed system from Corporate to OEM?

Please note that I already know:
1) how to change the product key installed in Windows (my problem is that the good product key is rejected because you cannot install an oem key on a corporate installation)
2) how to change an installation CD from corp to oem and viceversa (but I don't want to change the cd, I want to change the installed system)
3) that I can just clean install from the oem cd, upgrade to sp2, reinstall all software etc. (too time consuming)
but these don't answer my question.
