Retrieve deleted file deleted by windows user through networked drive
is there a quick and easy way to recover a delted file that was deleted by a network user through a share?
I know there are Third parties out there, but is there a temp folder or location on the server that files that are delted, go to?
please help asap

thanks for the vast resources but none seem to allow me to recover a file that has been already deleted. They want me to purchase the software before allowing me to do so. Is there a free or trial one that actually allows me to restore the delted file without purchasing the software?

deleted file recovery tools look for files that have had their location pointers removed from the drive
your OS loads information into these "Blocks" of information and it will overwrite information that has bee deleted first, the order it overwrites them is based on the size of information it needs to write NOT how long ago it was deleted.
>>this file is very critical and housed important data
Fair enuf - I sympathise Ive nearly been in that situation myself - but if your running mission critical data and are not backing it up you are heading for a fall - I dont want to sound like Im lecturing (sorry) its just us guys get sacked for doing the same :(

Thanks - tough I wasnt able to get your file back :(
I know its a bit like locking the door after the horse has bolted, but if/when you are up and running again, at least get a small script runnin that backs up your critical data to another location.
Best Wishes

Thanks for the tip :)
I suggest you to implement some sort of backup (e.g. Tape backup) on network server for sharing files.
