TFTP Issue

I don't know a better place to ask this question so even a redirection could get some points.

I have a Lantronix Xport device that works perfectly in the system in which it is installed. I can tftp this device from 3 other computers on the network but not my own. I can talk to the device as a com port but when I try to upload an http doc I get the following error message:

tftp: tftp/udp: unknown service

MightworkSoft MSDN website give the following explanation:
"...To transfer files to or from a remote computer using the TCP/IP Tftp command, the remote computer must have Ftp server running. It does not..."

However, as I said, three other computers on the same network have no trouble at all. I can't see any differences between the setups to account for this. Any ideas?

Hi 1stITMAN

Actually, I fixed the problem myself by uninstalling the simple TCP/IP services and reinstalling the TCP/IP protocol.

After that, no problem at all.

Thanks for your input
No problem Thanks for the points tho!!!
Thats ok, you took the time to respond. No reason you shouldn't get them.

I had the same problem, I checked what was happening with FileMon and somehow the path had been screwed up, it was looking for the services file in <current_directory>\%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\drivers\etc\services, instead of %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\drivers\etc\services. I worked around it by creating %SYSTEMROOT%\system32\drivers\etc in the directory I was trying to run it in. I will try reinstalling TCP and see if that fixes my problem as well.
